This garden was designed as a journey around the house. Starting at the outdoor eating area underneath the pergola, a brick path lined with perennials leads to a limestone birdbath. From there, an arbor covered with the thornless climbing rose “Zephirine Drouhin” stands at the entrance to an ornamental kitchen garden that in late summer is draped with the outlandishly large “Cucuzzi Caravazzi" squash and purple hyacinth vine. A door in the fence opens to the front yard that harbors an ancient fishpond alongside a towering yew.
